“Asian Performing Arts Festival 2011” opens!
The seed pieces which were created through “Workshop for International Collaboration” last year will grow and bear fruits in the fall 2011 in Seoul, Taipei and Tokyo.
When Asian artists collaborate with each other, they work in “friendly competition” with those who share many similarities in terms of lifestyle, physicality and philosophy. That is essential for the Artistic development and sophistication.
The 10 minutes short pieces which were created through the “Workshop for International Collaboration 2010”, which we call “seed pieces”, are worked on and further developed into full size pieces to present for the audience. This is a great opportunity to witness the potential of Asian Artists working together.

The Asian Performing Arts Festival is one of the joint projects under the Asian Major Cities Network 21. It aims to encourage mutual understanding and cultural exchange among Asian countries as well as promoting interaction between performing artists to raise levels of the performing arts and lead to new forms of expression. Its goals also include finding new talents and working through the performing arts to build a globally recognized art market, contributing to the further promotion of 21st century art and culture in Asia.
